12 Powerful diet myths
you need to know

...............

Here's the common diet myth and the one from which all other diet lies stem????

broccoli + gym = thin = health.

What it should read is:

Body-wise eating + exercise fun + light thoughts + rest

= FEELING VIBRANT, HAPPY AND HEALTHY

When it comes to diet myths, here's what I know for sure: EVERY regulated diet that has 'weight loss' as its only goal, is just another fad diet.

Weight loss myths
and what you want to know

It's difficult to know where to start discussing the myths perpetuated by the weight loss industry because there are so many. Health myths that are sadly often bought into and perpetuated by much of the medical profession. Some of the least healthy diets have been created by medical doctors!

diet myths Myths are also supported by the fashion industry (they have a lot to gain when we weight cycle between our fats and thins) and the beauty industry (it has big bucks invested in us having low self esteem - the lower our self-esteem, the more products we buy).

We have been terrorized into believing that thinness is the be-all and the end-all. It isn't. Thiness doesn't automatically = beauty, health and happiness. I know that because when I was a gorgeous 23-year old goddess (I can see that now) I was desperately unhappy and felt ugly.

Why do we diet?

But! but! Isn't weight loss the whole point? Isn't that what will make me desirable, sexy and healthy? I can just hear that loud howl of protest in your head. If a diet only promises weight loss (especially quick weight loss) don't do it, even if it's free.

And yes, I know that may sound pretty extreme but don't stop reading just yet - this is going to get good. These 12 powerful health lies are going to give you really great reasons to ditch diets and live light.

Every person on diet is either doing it for 'health' or 'body beautiful' ('self-esteem help') reasons. The con is that thinness is apparently 'how to be happy.' I used to believe this too.

Now though, I know better. But I was so easily conned by all those wonderfully alluring and oh-so-gee-whizz-fantastically-easy-sounding diet adverts.

Most of advertisers claims are easily refutable with just a little bit of logic. But then whoever said there was ever anything logical about my desire to be thin and beautiful...I already was! I just had such a distorted body image that I couldn't see it.

You know talking about myths - they abound everywhere and when it comes to creating websites they're just as plentiful. There are ways to 'fool the spiders' etc... etc... But just like diets and their promises, they don't work. When I came across Sitesell (they power this website with incredibly technology and systems) what I most liked about them was Ken Envoy's policy of 'Keeping it real' because that's what the ditch-diets-live-light website is about AND IT WORKS!
